What is a Home Inspection
A home inspection is a complete visual examination of a home that is performed by a State Certified Professional Inspector at a specific point in time. The inspection is a non-invasive examination of the current condition of a home, usually associated with the sale of that home. The goal of a home inspection is to identify potential safety hazards and material defects. These components may include any combination of mechanical, structural, electrical, plumbing, or other essential systems of the home. In some cases a home-seller may want to have their home inspected in preparation for the sale of the home so as to avoid any potential complications with the sale of the home. Primarily, home inspections are conducted at the request of a home-buyer so as to reveal any issues associated with a potential home. The home inspection will include a complete walk-through of the house in which the condition of the home is closely examined, any deficiencies or defects are noted, and recommendations for repairs or consultations with area-specific contractors are made. A professional home inspection is an examination of the current condition of a house. It is not an inspection to verify compliance with appropriate codes and is not a prediction of future conditions, a guarantee or warranty.
